I am Layla Mubarek, an 11 year old martial artist in karate and currently a green belt as of May 2023. I started karate when I was 9 years old and am still as dedicated, and hard working as when I started.

I am a member the H.O.C Hurricanes Competition Team for House of Champions in Van Nuys, California. I became a team member December of 2021 and started competing in March of 2022 at 9 years old. Since then I have competed in different cities in southern California and Nevada, winning trophies for kata and weapons divisions. I specialize in bo staff and love learning new tricks to add to my routines.

Some of my goals are to get recognized as a martial artist on a larger scale, to get in the NASKA divisions, and use my martial arts on screen. Those may sound like challenging goals but I am dedicated and want to achieve them. I welcome and enjoy the challenge! I hope to achieve my goals and be someone who young martial artists look up to and want to learn from. Being a positive role model for girls is also a passion that I feel martial arts will allow me to pursue.
